The ATMA entrance test is conducted by AIMS, the association of Indian management schools, and provides admission to 500+ B-schools, including renowned private institutions in metros and tier-2 cities. ATMA 2027 : Expected exams and important dates

ATMA takes place several times during the year. Taking the last cycle of ATMA, we expect the following dates for 2027.

  • February 2027 session: Registration starts most probably in December 2026. 

  • May 2027 session: Registration from March 2027.

  • July 2027 session: Registration starts in May.

  • August 2027 session: This session registration starts in July 2027. 

As per 2026’s experience, the ATMA exam took place on February 22, May 3, July 12, and August 9, with the last session registration closure on August 3. Keep checking the official ATMA AIMS website for updated dates about 2027.

ATMA 2027 Eligibility Conditions

ATMA eligibility criteria are simple and inclusive:

At least 50 percent in any bachelor’s degree from a UGC-recognized university (45% for reserved category students).

Students in their final year of graduation can apply provisionally.

Qualified CAs only need an additional graduation degree to meet this criteria.

ATMA doesn’t specify an upper age limit for applying because professionals in various fields who want to switch careers opt for it.

ATMA 2027 Exam Pattern

ATMA is a computer-based test taken at designated test centers. The exam pattern is:

Total Duration: 3 hours

Total Questions: 180 questions
  • Section 1: Analytical Reasoning Skills 

  • Section 2: Analytical Reasoning Skills 

  • Section 3: Quantitative Skills 

  • Section 4: Quantitative Skills 

  • Section 5: Verbal Skills 

  • Sections: 6 (30 questions per section and 30 minutes per section)

Marking pattern: +1 for the correct answer, penalty of -0.25 for the incorrect answer plus no marks for unanswered questions.

In every section, there will be a prescribed duration and left-over time cannot be transferred between sections.

The structure of ATMA syllabus remains consistent:

Analytical Reasoning: Tests an applicant's logical skills including the skills of coding-decoding, syllogisms, arrangements, understanding of assertions and statements, using data efficiently, drawing conclusions, etc. 

Quantitative Skills: Involves the study of basic maths such as percentages, profit and loss, ratio, interest, algebra, geometry, and modern maths. 

Verbal Skills: Includes reading and understanding what one reads, grammar skills, vocabulary, making sentences, etc.

With the series of mock tests, one can easily clear the ATMA exam.
